Gamification &
data presentation

Model outputs are only useful if people engage with them. We design for the engagement, not just the accuracy.

Overview

A perfectly accurate model that nobody looks at changes nothing. The gap between a correct prediction and a better decision is almost always a presentation problem.

We design the layer between model output and human action: dashboards that surface the number that matters without burying it in noise, visualisations that make a trend legible at a glance, and — where it fits the audience — gamification mechanics that turn passive reporting into something people actually check.

This isn't decoration. Leaderboards, streaks, and progress framing are behavioural tools with real evidence behind them, and we use them deliberately, matched to what actually drives the target audience, not applied as a generic layer on top of a chart.

The measure of success isn't a dashboard that looks good in a demo — it's one people are still opening, and acting on, a year later.

01

Audience & decision mapping

Identifying who's looking at this, how often, and what decision it should change. A dashboard for an executive weekly review and one for a frontline daily check need entirely different designs.

02

Information design

Choosing the chart, layout, and hierarchy that make the key number legible in seconds — informed by what the data actually needs to show, not a default template.

03

Engagement mechanics

Where it fits — leaderboards, streaks, milestone framing — designed around the specific behaviour we're trying to encourage, with attention to fairness and avoiding perverse incentives.

04

Build & iterate

Building the interactive dashboard or presentation layer, then watching how people actually use it — not just how we expected them to — and adjusting.

05

Adoption tracking & handoff

Instrumenting usage so adoption is measurable, not assumed. Documentation and design system handoff so your team can extend it without us.
